Grief Therapy

Grief can be a powerful and overwhelming feeling. The deep sorrow and emotional roller coaster that we can find ourselves in after a big change is challenging. Sometimes comfort seems fleeting or absent. You may feel numb, angry, in shock, anxious, lonely, tired but not able to sleep, sad, jealous, guilty, etc. And then that may change quickly to another feeling. Grief isn’t just stages you check off in order. It’s messy and minute by minute at first.

With so many feelings and responses, it can feel hard to function at home, at work, at school, as a parent, etc. Grief therapy can help. In grief therapy, you can talk freely about your loved one and your experience in a supportive environment. There are not any judgments.

Grief therapy can help you process the multitude of feelings surrounding the loss and change. The grieving process looks different for each person and is based on many different factors. The long term goal for everyone is to help integrate the loss into your life, gain increased peace with your “new normal” and hope for your future.
